LAURA KNOOPS IS A FRENCH-BELGIAN-SWISS DESIGNER AND creative DIRECTOR BASED BETWEEN BERLIN & PARIS. COVERING WORKS IN ALL AREAS OF DESIGN WITHIN THE CULTURAL AND COMMERCIAL FIELDS. FOCUSING ON THE MUSIC, FASHION AND ART industries.
Working across different media, disciplines, and industries, I always believed that design, as opposed to merely styling, requires a range of skills, interests, processes, and perspectives.
I see myself as a designer, but also as a visual mediator and translator. I supports a systemic approach, resulting from an ongoing back-and-forth between the creative process and the use of signs.
Born in 1989 in Amiens, France, from Belgian and Swiss parents, I studied visual communications at the Paris Art Schools Duperré and Estienne. After graduating with a master degree at ÉSAAT Roubaix, I landed in Berlin ten years ago to began my professional journey as a graphic designer within the studio BANK™. Involved two years in digital products, user experience and agile methodologies, I was also part of the first edition of the fashion festival Bread & Butter by Zalando, the new H&M venture Itsapark and I am currently working closely with the Chanel digital department and Métier d'Arts based in Paris. I have pushed my knowledge further as a freelancer. Collaborating successively with the photographers Arnaud Ele and June Tamò-Collin, in art direction, production and post-production, I am now catering for the needs of clients from all over Europe and beyond, including Germany, France, Switzerland, UK, China and Australia.
I took advantage of my varied experiences to blur the lines between different artistic fields. It allowed me to build a profile that mixes disciplines — graphic design, photography, art direction, creative production, textile and live video.
